Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Practice in Florida. As a senior-level traffic engineer, you will lead projects and teams working on complex transportation projects, including adaptive signal systems, innovative intersections and interchanges, TSMO/ATMS, managed lanes, and complete street projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis, modeling, design, and planning tasks for transportation projects
  • Develop and implement innovative transportation solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects
  • Manage project assignments, including traffic safety/operations studies, traffic control device design, and work zone traffic control
  • Develop and apply traffic models using Synchro, SimTraffic, TransModeler, VISSIM, and VISUM
  • Work with clients to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer license required
  • Certified PTOE preferred
  • More than 10 years of progressive experience in traffic and/or ITS engineering
  • Experience using traffic guidelines, such as AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, and Highway Safety Manual
  • Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Experience with traffic modeling software, including HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, TransModeler, VISSIM, and VISUM
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Exceptional communication, technical writing, and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work independently and cooperatively with others
