Position Overview:
The Cargo Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse organization and storage solutions, ensuring efficient loading and unloading of air cargo. This role demands adherence to safety protocols and quality standards while complying with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Cargo Operations Supervisor, you will:

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Ensure that Cargo Agents are equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and prepared for their tasks.
  • Provide insights on operational enhancements and efficiencies.
  • Communicate operational feedback regarding flight delays and performance to management.
  • Address security-related matters and lead meetings as necessary.
  • Work effectively under pressure and within strict time constraints.
  • Ensure adherence to uniform standards among Cargo Agents.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of air cargo onto and from aircraft, carts, containers, and trucks.
  • Facilitate transportation between terminals and aircraft, including ramp transfers of cargo such as receiving, delivering, weighing, and documenting in a freight-specific facility or loading dock area.
  • Prepare and palletize cargo as required.
  • Accurately complete cargo documentation and forms in compliance with airline requirements.
  • Guarantee proper handling and delivery of cargo, along with the operation of related equipment.
  • Follow Dangerous Goods Requirements and Regulations.
  • Adhere to GAT Airline Ground Support's Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
  • Manage the pick-up and delivery of cargo as specified.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Proficiency in navigating electronic devices (computers, fax machines, printers, time clocks, etc.).
  • A foundational understanding of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance issues.
  • Experience and insight into the commercial aspects of aviation.
  • A High School diploma or GED.
  • A minimum age of 18 years.
  • The ability to process information efficiently.
  • A valid Driver's License that must be maintained.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Previous experience in ramp operations or the airline industry.
  • The ability to successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications throughout employment.
  • Clearance through an FBI fingerprint background check.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be physically capable of performing job duties, including but not limited to standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods. The role requires the ability to repetitively lift up to 70 pounds in confined spaces.

Work Environment:
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions with exposure to loud noises is essential. Flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.
