Role Overview
This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding and active engagement in fulfilling the mission of MemorialCare Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. The Patient Care Assistant I (PCA I) Float Pool serves as an unlicensed caregiver under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing essential patient care including data collection, personal hygiene assistance, and support with daily living activities such as ambulation, toileting, and feeding. This position plays a crucial role in facilitating departmental flow and ensuring a safe, clean environment for patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and competently execute assigned duties in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with the Registered Nurse and healthcare team members in a clear and organized manner.
- Collect and document relevant patient information in the electronic medical record, alerting the Registered Nurse to any changes in the patient's condition.
- Uphold patient privacy rights and maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills by addressing patient and family expectations.
- Demonstrate tact, sensitivity, and discretion in all interactions.
- Integrate knowledge of job-specific competencies and maintain educational qualifications.
