Role Overview
This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of MemorialCare Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. The Patient Care Assistant I (PCA I) Float Pool serves as an unlicensed caregiver under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing essential patient care, including data collection, personal hygiene assistance, and support with daily living activities such as ambulation, toileting, and feeding. This position plays a crucial role in facilitating departmental flow and ensuring a safe, clean environment for patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Exhibit the ability to perform assigned duties safely, promptly, and competently.
- Communicate effectively with the Registered Nurse and other healthcare team members in a clear and organized manner.
- Collect and document pertinent patient information in the electronic medical record, promptly notifying the Registered Nurse of any changes in the patient's condition.
- Understand and uphold patient privacy rights, maintaining confidentiality of all sensitive information.
- Utilize strong customer service skills to manage and meet patient and family expectations.
- Demonstrate tact, sensitivity, and discretion in all interactions.
- Integrate knowledge of job-specific competencies and equipment usage while maintaining educational requirements and licensure.
- Exhibit punctuality and reliability in attendance.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and directives.
- Engage positively and constructively with colleagues and patients.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Compensation placement within the pay range considers various factors, including relevant experience and qualifications.
