Overview

The BRIDGE program is a specialized initiative designed to provide comprehensive support for students on the Autism Spectrum, utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

This program includes a dedicated special education teacher, skilled instructional aides, and expert consultation from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Speech and Language Pathologist, and Occupational Therapist.

Students in this program benefit from a blend of discrete trial training, supported inclusion, small group activities, and incidental teaching, all aimed at enhancing their independent skills across various domains.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and monitor students throughout their daily activities within classroom settings.
  • Collect and maintain data regarding students' behavioral and academic progress.
  • Implement behavioral interventions as directed by the classroom teacher.
  • Engage in staff meetings to discuss curricular expectations and student developmental needs.
  • Facilitate instruction for individuals or small groups, ensuring effective learning experiences.
  • Support students in adhering to routines, following directions, and completing assigned tasks.
  • Supervise students during transitions, including bus rides and lunch periods.
  • Assist students with self-help skills related to safety, eating, and toileting.
  • Create educational materials as directed by the teacher when time permits.
  • Prepare the classroom environment for instruction as required.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding student information at all times.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of college education or equivalent experience working with children.
  • Preferred experience or knowledge in working with students on the autism spectrum.
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles is advantageous.
