Position Summary: The Residential Support Specialist will provide assistance and support within Level 3 residential programs. Staff will aid individuals requiring daily intervention, supervision, and skills training in activities of daily living while operating within a home setting and in the community. Individuals may need moderate physical assistance or accommodations. Staff will undergo and must successfully complete specialized training to deliver enhanced supervision or interventions tailored to address multiple disabilities, including behavioral support or advanced medical care.

Work Schedule: Sunday 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM, Friday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM (32 hours)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist individuals with skills training in all aspects of daily living.
  2. Create opportunities and support individuals in making decisions to enhance their skills and promote independence.
  3. Deliver services to individuals in accordance with DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all relevant regulatory standards, as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.
  4. Support individuals with all medical, clinical, and financial needs.
  5. Transport and accompany individuals as necessary to medical, recreational, and other activities outside the program.
  6. Maintain required documentation in compliance with DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all relevant regulatory standards, along with Bridgewell policies and procedures.
  7. Assist individuals in accessing community resources and recreational opportunities.
  8. Administer medications in accordance with MAP regulations, as applicable.
  9. Maintain core training certifications including FA/CPR, PABC, and MAP.
  10. Complete additional mandated certifications and training as required by the program.
  11. Foster positive relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED required - Associate's Degree or DSP Certification preferred.
  2. A minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental or psychiatric disabilities is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure clarity and articulation in required documentation.
  2. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  3. Valid driver's license and at least one year of driving experience.
  4. Proficient in using Microsoft products and web-based applications utilized by the agency.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Frequent requirement to climb stairs while performing job duties.
  2. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  3. Must be able to drive a vehicle and consistently meet the agency's driving record requirements.
  4. Normal range of eyesight with or without corrective lenses.
  5. Normal range of hearing with or without assistive devices.
