Position OverviewThe Neuro Radiographer plays a crucial role in supporting the advanced technological requirements of intricate neurosurgical and neurological diagnostic and interventional procedures within the Neuro lab and hybrid surgical suite. This position is essential for Otorhinolaryngology and other necessary cases in the operating room.
Key Responsibilities- Operation of Radiology Equipment: Utilize radiology equipment with precision, ensuring optimal patient positioning to generate high-quality images.
- Equipment Maintenance: Regularly maintain radiology equipment, troubleshoot service issues, and communicate any concerns to incoming staff.
- Patient Interaction: Engage with patients to establish trust, explain procedures prior to examinations, and monitor their status throughout the process.
- Assistance in Procedures: Collaborate with radiologists and medical teams to execute procedures in accordance with established protocols.
- Emergency Response: Act promptly in emergency situations, adhering to departmental policies to ensure patient safety.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance testing in line with section protocols to maintain high standards.
- Technical Support: Provide support for neurosurgery and ENT operating room cases utilizing advanced imaging systems.
- Data Management: Oversee the storage and management of imaging data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience is required, particularly in assisting with neurovascular interventions.
Education: High School diploma/GED and an Associate's degree from an AMA-approved Diagnostic Radiology program.
Licenses/Certifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Registry Radiology Tech license, and NJ Radiology Tech License are mandatory.
Skills and Competencies- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in operating various imaging and navigation systems such as Siemens, Sonosite, and Brain Lab.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
This position operates on a full-time basis, with a schedule of 36 hours per week, including on-call responsibilities.
