HDR Engineering is excited to announce an opening for a Transmission Engineering Coordinator to join our esteemed team of Power Delivery experts. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual eager to grow and embrace new challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

The Transmission Engineering Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the preparation of engineering documentation, including drawings, calculations, and reports for high-voltage transmission line projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers and Engineers to explore design alternatives, conduct modeling, and create preliminary design sketches.
  • Working alongside Designers and CAD Technicians to produce construction drawings that comply with national standards and project specifications.
  • Supporting the development of cost estimates and specifications.
  • Participating in field assessments and construction oversight.

Typical tasks involve structural design, conductor sag calculations, foundation design, and material selection, while also considering environmental regulations and public engagement.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional short-term travel may be necessary, with infrequent longer assignments based on project needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EIT certification is preferred; candidates without EIT will be designated as Transmission Engineering Coordinator.
  • 2+ years of experience in project execution within the Power Delivery sector.
  • Familiarity with transmission line design software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, and PLS-Tower is advantageous.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
