PRODUCT ENGINEERING SPECIALIST

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The duties outlined for this role are not exhaustive. Responsibilities may differ based on client needs and the scope of the projects undertaken. A key aspect of this role is the ongoing assessment of work quality to ensure it surpasses client expectations. Familiarity with quality evaluation programs is essential, along with the willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as necessary to meet job demands.
  • Coordinate and respond to requests for quotations regarding new tooling and engineering modifications; document client design specifications and initiate RFQs/ICRs to SCREEN factories for new features. Propel initiatives towards emerging commercial prospects by leveraging insights from the client's User Model. Collaborate closely with the account manager to ensure all aspects of client expectations are fulfilled.
  • Review, approve, and track change requests for existing machinery. Provide factory engineering and local service teams with preferred modification scopes that align with client application needs.
  • Formulate OEM specifications as needed to satisfy client requirements and ensure ongoing OEM management.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to guarantee a successful Continuous Improvement Program by addressing client needs while achieving the company's financial objectives.
  • Maintain a repository of closed specifications for each tool by client; uphold robust system configuration control and manage client relationships for assigned products, providing regular updates in a User forum.
  • Accountable for ensuring success across various development support activities, including chairing regular client User Group meetings, coordinating factory demonstrations, liaising with Factory Engineering, and showcasing comprehensive knowledge of all product capabilities from modular levels down to detailed component specifications.
  • Develop a solid understanding of SCREEN and client internal business practices.
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to lead and guide the activities of multi-functional teams essential for supporting and achieving client objectives. The candidate should also demonstrate proficiency in conducting root cause analysis and reporting using industry-standard methodologies.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or Chemistry from an accredited institution is required. Formal training in business, particularly with a focus on sales and marketing of capital goods, is advantageous. Consideration may be given to a combination of formal education in other disciplines (BS and/or postgraduate studies) and directly related experience in lieu of the stated requirements.
