The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a meticulous Finance professional to become part of their team as a Financial Reimbursement Analyst. In this capacity, you will be tasked with managing contractual allowances, financial reporting, revenue forecasting, and various special initiatives. Staying informed about the latest laws and regulations regarding reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payers is essential. Below are the primary responsibilities and qualifications for this role:

  • Assessing transactions associated with third-party reimbursement, which includes contractual adjustments, settlements receivable, Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports, appeals, amendments, and re-openings.
  • Maintaining expertise in reimbursement by keeping abreast of current developments at both the State and Federal levels.
  • Conducting profitability analyses, rate optimization, strategic pricing, financial feasibility assessments, trend evaluations, and other decision-support projects.
  • Engaging in the design and planning of the Hospital budget concerning rate setting and contractual adjustments.
  • Implementing reporting systems in collaboration with the Director of Reimbursement.
  • Ensuring that optimal reimbursement rates and codes are established and communicated effectively.
  • Working alongside Patient Accounting personnel to address patient claim underpayments.
  • Reviewing provider agreements and developing financial models for proposed agreements.
  • Meeting specific competencies within the department while adhering to organizational policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in Finance.

Licensure: Certified Public Accountant or Fellow HFMA (FHFMA) preferred. Familiarity with Siemen's systems is advantageous.
