Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Program Technician with a strong background in transit and rail management, particularly in relation to freight railroads and public transit agencies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and execution of various rail-related design and management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Program Technician will:

  • Collaborate with transit and rail technical leaders to drive multi-disciplinary teams in advancing significant capital programs throughout all project phases, including environmental review, design, procurement, construction, certification, and asset management.
  • Provide expertise in all facets of rail and transit project delivery, ensuring quality and compliance from conceptual design through to final implementation.
  • Assist in contract management, procurement processes, and overall project oversight.
  • Contribute to the creation of training materials, operational procedures, and manuals to address organizational needs.
  • Work closely with the QA/QC Administrator to fulfill internal and external audit requirements.
  • Mentor and manage staff across various levels, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels, enhancing client relations and strategic partnerships.
  • Utilize strong technical skills to assess project elements and manage critical paths through the design and approval processes.
  • Demonstrate initiative and attention to detail while managing a diverse workload.
  • Exhibit a willingness to travel and work in various project settings.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 20 years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years in a rail or transit agency environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of rail, transit, and systems project delivery methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ProjectWise.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A positive attitude and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
