Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Program Technician with a strong focus on transit and rail management, particularly for freight railroads and public transit agencies. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the expansion and initiatives of our rail and transit division, engaging in a diverse range of rail-related design and management projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance significant transit and rail capital programs throughout the project lifecycle, including environmental assessments, design phases, procurement, construction, certification, and asset management.
  • Provide expertise in all facets of rail and transit project delivery, ensuring thorough understanding of conceptual, preliminary, and final design processes.
  • Assist in contract management, procurement, and project oversight.
  • Develop training materials, manuals, and operational procedures to address organizational challenges through assessments and evaluations.
  • Work closely with the QA/QC Administrator to meet internal and external audit standards.
  • Mentor and manage staff at various levels, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels, maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills to evaluate project elements and manage critical paths through the approval and design processes.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage a diverse workload efficiently.
  • Be open to travel and work in project offices as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 20+ years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years in a rail or transit agency environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with ProjectWise software.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with others.
