Job Summary

The Maryland Transit Administration is seeking a highly skilled Systems Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the installation, testing, maintenance, operation, design, inspection, and repair of complex electro-mechanical equipment and analog and digital circuitry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise electronic technicians, repair personnel, and clerical employees
  • Participate in budget preparation and financial accounting of labor and materials
  • Interface with training personnel to assist and support training activities
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of changes in transit equipment and systems technology and operations
  • Develop new and improved maintenance techniques

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
  • Satisfactory completion of a program in a formal vocational or trade school or other formal training in one or more of the following fields: high voltage electrical power and related control systems, electronic communications systems, railroad signaling and train control systems, electronic fare collection systems, railcar electronic systems, or other complex electro-mechanical or electrical systems
  • Five years minimum experience in one or more of the fields listed above, including working with complex digital and analog circuitry

Special Requirements

  • Subject to substance abuse testing
  • Required to maintain a reliable communication link for emergency call back requirements
  • May be required to work evenings, night shifts, and weekends
  • Considered an Essential Employee

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid State of Maryland motor vehicle operator's license
  • Valid State of Maryland Commercial Driver's License (CDL) class B restricted license
