PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountable for enhancing market share and expansion of designated categories through strategic sales initiatives with key clients, both autonomously and in collaboration with Territory Managers.


Deliver in-depth product knowledge and sales assistance for all facets of the category, including promotional strategies, product details, recommended pricing, competitive analysis, and menu suggestions prioritized for maximum market penetration to achieve division sales growth targets for the category, as well as capitalize on Exclusive Brand (EB) conversion prospects.


Drive key performance indicators across the category (including sales volume growth, category market share, EB market share, and feedback from Territory Managers); collaborate with TMs to refine product offerings, order guides, and potential pricing strategies for new clients.

Support category-specific product conversion initiatives and new product sales opportunities based on product margins, features, and advantages.


Assist TMs in onboarding new clients with the highest potential; accompany TMs on visits to high-potential accounts to provide specialized category knowledge.

Conduct training sessions for TMs, focusing on top market penetration priorities and utilizing hands-on product demonstrations and printed resources during monthly sales meetings and one-on-one field opportunities; mentor TMs during collaborative work sessions.

Develop and present effective sales and training materials in partnership with Category Management and Training departments.


Showcase product applications and menu uses at market and customer locations, offering consulting expertise to clients on essential product considerations, features/benefits, and preparation methods.


Contribute to category growth by gathering and sharing market intelligence and customer insights on product offerings, pricing strategies, trends, and innovations; provide input into marketing and sales materials and events at the market, and assist Category Management with sourcing and inventory needs.


Promote and deliver business solutions to key clients, referring potential leads to the Business Solutions team and ensuring a seamless transition.

Respond to limited product inquiries from TMs via phone or email.


Provide limited support to TMs in sales activities for non-prioritized opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Related Experience: 5 years experience in the COP category; must possess extensive product knowledge in COP; culinary training is advantageous.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Preferred consultative selling skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with solid interpersonal, presentation, and training abilities required.
  • Foodservice experience preferred, but not mandatory.
