KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountable for enhancing market share and expansion of designated categories through strategic sales initiatives with targeted clientele, both autonomously and in collaboration with Territory Managers.


Deliver product knowledge and sales assistance across all facets of the category, including promotional strategies, product details, recommended pricing, competitive analysis, and menu suggestions prioritized for optimal market penetration to meet Division growth targets for the category, while also capitalizing on Exclusive Brand (EB) conversion prospects.


Drive key performance indicators across the category (including sales growth, category penetration, EB adoption, and feedback from Territory Managers); collaborate with TMs to refine product selections, order guides, and potential pricing for new clients.

Support category-specific product conversion initiatives and new item sales opportunities based on product margins, attributes, and advantages.


Assist TMs in establishing new accounts with the highest potential; accompany TMs on visits to high-potential accounts to provide specialized category knowledge.

Conduct training sessions for TMs, emphasizing top penetration priorities and utilizing hands-on product demonstrations and printed resources during monthly sales meetings and individual field opportunities; mentor TMs during collaborative work sessions.

Develop and present effective selling and relevant training materials in partnership with Category Management and Training departments.


Showcase product applications and/or menu ideas at Market and Customer locations, offering consulting expertise to clients on essential product considerations, features/benefits, and preparation methods.


Contribute to category growth by gathering and sharing market intelligence and customer insights regarding product offerings, pricing, trends, and innovations; provide input into marketing/selling materials and events at the Market and assist Category Management with sourcing and inventory needs.


Promote and deliver business solutions to key clients, referring potential leads to the Business Solutions team and ensuring a seamless transition.

Address (limited) product inquiries from TMs via phone or email.


Provide (limited) support to TMs in sales efforts for non-prioritized opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Related Experience: 5 years experience in COP category; must possess deep, comprehensive product knowledge in COP; culinary training beneficial.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Consultative selling skills preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with solid interpersonal, presentation, and training abilities required.
  • Foodservice experience preferred, but not required.
