Lead IT Systems Administrator

Position Summary: This role is essential for the effective management and oversight of our IT infrastructure, ensuring operational excellence and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of servers, networks, and communication systems, ensuring optimal performance and capacity that aligns with business needs.
- Administer a variety of IT technologies, including Microsoft 365, Cisco networking equipment, and security solutions such as Fortinet and Sentinel One.
- Ensure successful execution of system backups and restorations, maintaining data integrity and availability.
- Define and document hardware and software specifications for IT projects, managing installation and configuration processes.
- Monitor systems for security vulnerabilities, conducting regular assessments and applying necessary updates to safeguard corporate data.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with end users and IT teams to resolve technical issues related to the IT infrastructure.
- Manage service desk tickets efficiently, providing timely updates and resolutions to users.
- Facilitate the integration of newly acquired organizations into existing IT operations.
- Proactively contribute to technology enhancements and best practices, assessing risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Build strong relationships with users to understand their needs and develop strategies to meet them.
- Ensure compliance with legal and fiduciary policies in all deployed systems.
- Prepare professional written communications that are clear and effective.
- Travel as needed for infrastructure migrations related to acquisitions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management within a multi-site environment.
- Experience in manufacturing or distribution sectors is preferred.
- Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, CCNA, or CompTIA Network+ are highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows Server, virtualization technologies, and desktop operating systems.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure Infrastructure as a Service.
- Familiarity with WAN/LAN devices and security measures.
- Proficient in system performance monitoring and capacity planning.
- Knowledge of ITIL methodologies is a plus.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of handling various tasks simultaneously.
