About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our team in Columbus, OH. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing field testing and observations of construction materials on project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing plans and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Documenting field activities, observations, and testing results on projects
  • Calibrating field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards
  • Performing Special Inspection observations per the International Building Code (IBC)
  • Communicating daily with management staff, general contractors, and clients

About You:

  • You have a high school diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
  • You have effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
  • You have good math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
  • You have the ability to complete data entry into multiple software applications on a smart device
  • You have 1 or more of the following active industry certifications: American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), or DOT Certifications
