As a key member of our Construction Services team, you will play a critical role in testing and analyzing construction materials such as soil, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and document tests on various construction materials with precision and attention to detail.
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment is well-maintained and properly calibrated.
  • Collaborate with experienced technicians and professionals to ensure accurate and thorough reporting of test results.
  • Assist with calibrations and maintain equipment to ensure the lab runs efficiently.

About You:

  • You have a High School diploma/GED.
  • You have 0-2 years of experience in a construction materials laboratory.
  • You have effective math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure.
  • You have effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language.
  • You can proficiently complete data entry into multiple software applications on a smart device, using Microsoft Office and email.
  • You have one(1) or more active certifications, a plus:
    • American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician
    • International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)
    • DOT Certifications in the fields of Aggregate, Conventional Density, Asphalt, and Concrete

Requirements:

  • Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions outside normal business hours, as needed.
  • Stand up to 8 hours a day, up to 12 hours on occasion.
  • Walk over rough and uneven terrain, maneuvering field equipment safely.
  • Routinely lift and carry 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment).
  • Travel out-of-town and possibly overnight for assignments as needed.
