The IT Operations Support Specialist is an entry-level role where you will contribute to a team responsible for a diverse array of technical and logistical tasks aimed at supporting Blue Mantis clients, internal teams, and partners. This position entails the preparation and maintenance of IT equipment, including laptops and peripherals, and collaboration with the Configuration team to assist in the setup of various endpoint devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • This position requires onsite presence from Monday to Friday, operating from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM in our Configuration Center/Warehouse.
  • Your duties will encompass warehouse management tasks such as shipping, receiving, inventory oversight, and the delivery of completed devices.
  • Responsibilities include the installation of operating systems, warranty repairs, firmware updates, and the setup of Managed Services tools for both contracted and non-contracted clients.
  • Engage in device preparation at the Configuration Center, specifically focusing on the imaging and custom configuration of laptops and desktops for onsite deployment using various imaging tools.
  • Conduct initial configurations for switches and disk arrays.
  • Adhere to agreed-upon turnaround times for client configuration and installation projects.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and packaging of laptops to guarantee full functionality of IT equipment and accessories.
  • Manage the inventory of IT assets, including laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
  • Oversee the shipping and receiving processes for all IT assets to ensure timely handling.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • 1-2 years of experience in IT.
  • 1-2 years of experience with Windows operating systems, specifically Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • 1-2 years of experience in PC hardware and networking.
  • Familiarity with hardware, operating systems, and networking principles.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and effectively communicate issues.
  • Strong communication skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • A+ or Network+ certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of network cabling and termination.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A willingness and eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11.
  • The typical work environment is a warehouse or open office layout.
  • This role includes the physical handling of IT equipment and boxes.
  • Candidates must be able to lift weights ranging from 10 to 70 pounds regularly, with occasional assistance required for items exceeding 100 pounds. The role involves standing, bending, crawling, reaching, and working on ladders.
  • Travel may be required as needed.
  • Non-local travel may account for up to 25% of the role.
