The IT Operations Support Specialist is an entry-level role that involves contributing to a team dedicated to executing a variety of technical and logistical operational tasks aimed at assisting Blue Mantis clients, internal teams, and partners. This position entails the preparation and maintenance of IT equipment, including laptops and peripherals, and collaboration with the Configuration team to facilitate the imaging of diverse endpoint devices.
Primary Responsibilities
- This role requires onsite presence from Monday to Friday, operating from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM within our Configuration Center/Warehouse.
- Responsibilities will encompass warehouse management activities such as shipping, receiving, inventory oversight, and the distribution of completed devices.
- Tasks will include the installation of operating systems, warranty repairs, firmware updates, and the setup of Managed Services tools for both contracted and non-contracted clients.
- Conduct device preparation at the Configuration Center, focusing on imaging and custom configuration of laptops and desktops for onsite deployment using various imaging technologies.
- Initial configuration of switches and disk arrays will also be part of the duties.
- Ensure compliance with agreed-upon turnaround times for client configuration and installation initiatives.
- Accountable for the meticulous cleaning and packaging of laptops to guarantee the full functionality of IT equipment and accessories.
- Manage the inventory of IT assets, including laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
- Oversee the shipping and receiving processes for all IT assets to ensure timely delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in IT.
- 1-2 years of proficiency with Windows operating systems, specifically Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- 1-2 years of experience with PC hardware and networking.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, operating systems, and networking.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and effective communication skills.
- Exceptional communication skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory.
- Outstanding customer service capabilities.
- A+ or Network+ certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of network cabling and termination.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness and eagerness to learn new skills.
- Fluency in Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11.
- Typical work environment is a warehouse or open office layout.
- Physical requirements include lifting and moving IT equipment and boxes.
- Candidates must be capable of lifting weights ranging from 10 to 70 pounds regularly, with occasional assistance needed for items exceeding 100 pounds. Tasks may involve standing, bending, crawling, reaching, and working from ladders.
- Travel may be required as necessary.
- Non-local travel may account for up to 25% of the role.
