Job Type: Part-time

Overview: The role involves managing the collection of various accounts receivables for the hospital, including Commercial, Blue Cross, Workers' Compensation, and other non-Medicare and Medicaid accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Submitting appeal letters and inquiries to the relevant payors.
  • Communicating with patients, physicians' offices, and other third parties to gather essential information.
  • Collaborating with departments such as Insurance, Pre-certification, Registration, Nursing, and Medical Records to ensure complete reimbursement.
  • Addressing account inquiries, including billing discrepancies, patient balances, and data accuracy.
  • Managing specific alphabet assignments for patient accounts and updating all relevant information received.
  • Reviewing overdue accounts for potential referral to external collections.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: One year of experience in Healthcare Patient Accounts or billing.
  • Proficient in personal computer usage and business software (e.g., Microsoft Word, spreadsheets).
  • Familiarity with the filing and payment processes of Commercial, Blue Cross, and other healthcare payors is preferred.
  • Background in medical terminology is advantageous.
  • Must have the physical capability to perform tasks including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

Schedule: 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM, rotating weekends, 8 hours per week.
