Position Overview
The role involves managing the collection of various accounts receivables for the hospital, including Commercial, Blue Cross, Workers' Compensation, and other non-Medicare and Medicaid accounts. Responsibilities include submitting appeal letters and inquiries to the relevant payors, as well as liaising with patients, physicians' offices, and other stakeholders to gather essential information.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with departments such as Insurance, Pre-certification, Registration, Nursing, and Medical Records to ensure complete reimbursement.
- Address account inquiries, including billing discrepancies, patient balances, and data inaccuracies.
- Manage specific alphabet assignments for patient accounts, ensuring timely updates and reviews of overdue accounts for potential external collections.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred: One year of experience in Healthcare Patient Accounts or billing.
- Proficient in personal computer usage and business software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, spreadsheets).
- Familiarity with the filing and payment protocols of Commercial, Blue Cross, and other healthcare payors is advantageous.
- Background in medical terminology is preferred.
- Physical requirements include the ability to perform a range of motions and lift up to 30 pounds.
SCHEDULE: 5:00PM-11:00PM, ROTATING WEEKENDS, 8 HOURS PER WEEK
