Job Overview

The Patient Safety Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of patients who require close observation due to various risks such as falls, confusion, or suicidal tendencies. This position demands a vigilant presence to maintain a secure environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide constant and uninterrupted observation of patients, including during personal care activities.
  • Ensure the safety and orderliness of the surrounding environment.
  • Effectively communicate any relevant patient information to nursing staff promptly.
  • Remain fully attentive to the patient, avoiding distractions such as mobile devices or reading materials.
  • Never leave the patient's room without proper coverage.
  • Stay with the patient until reassigned by the charge nurse, regardless of family presence.
  • Document observations and activities on the designated flow sheet, adhering to specified time intervals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Shift Details: 2nd Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Completion of CPI training within the first month of employment.
  • Ability to pass background checks during the onboarding process.
  • Must possess the physical capability to perform tasks such as walking, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Successful completion of safety attendant training during onboarding and annually thereafter.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Physical hold training must be completed within 30 days of hire.
