As a Refugee Support Case Coordinator, your role will involve assisting newly arrived refugee and immigrant families who are unfamiliar with the United States and require substantial connections to community resources and enrollment in vital programs. You will collaborate with each individual or family to establish a self-sufficiency plan, working towards stability during the three-month intensive resettlement period mandated by the US State Department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating essential services such as housing, healthcare, education, employment, and wellness support to help individuals achieve self-sufficiency and overall wellbeing.
  • Documenting case notes and completing applications for various assistance programs, including MFIP, MNsure, and SNAP.
  • Utilizing MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) effectively.
  • Engaging with children and families in a compassionate manner.
  • Driving families, including those with children requiring car seats, using personal and agency vehicles.
  • Maintaining a valid driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and access to reliable transportation for daily travel throughout the designated service area.
  • Proficiency in Arabic, Oromo, Spanish, or Somali is preferred.
