As a Refugee Support Case Manager, your role will be pivotal in assisting newly arrived refugee and immigrant families as they navigate their transition to life in the United States. You will be responsible for connecting these families with vital community resources and guiding them through the enrollment process for essential programs. Each case manager will develop a personalized self-sufficiency plan tailored to the unique needs of each individual or family, focusing on achieving stability during the intensive three-month resettlement period mandated by federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate housing, healthcare, education, employment, and other necessary services to support individuals and families in achieving self-sufficiency.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and assist clients with applications for various assistance programs.
  • Utilize strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Drive clients, including children, ensuring compliance with safety regulations regarding car seats.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and community partners, preferably in languages such as Arabic, Oromo, Spanish, or Somali.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, political science, or a related field is required. Experience in social services, particularly with refugees or immigrants, is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.
  • A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle are necessary for daily travel within the service area.
