Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is a key member of our team at US Anesthesia Partners, Inc., responsible for managing and overseeing the accounts receivable paper processes of our medical office. This role involves ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and effective communication with patients and insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced level work related to denial management, including refiling claims as needed.
  • Maintain basic proficiency with using spreadsheets to track and analyze accounts receivable data.
  • Resolve Manual Tasks assigned to AR for follow up, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
  • Work outstanding Accounts Receivable from assigned projects, meeting productivity standards as set by the department.
  • Maintain accuracy rating of 97% or greater on audited accounts, ensuring high-quality work.
  • Review payor communications related to changes in Medical Policies, staying up-to-date on industry developments.
  • Identify opportunities for and actively participate in process improvement initiatives, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate all incoming mail for Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Print and mail prepared appeal packets, as well as print and mail paper claims.
  • Receive and Route incoming faxes, ensuring prompt and accurate handling.
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to maintain professionalism in all methods of communication.
  • Basic math skills for calculating anesthesia units, proper reimbursement, and percentages for appropriate adjustments.
  • Medical terminology knowledge, including CPT, ICD-10, and ASA codes.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance processing, guidelines, laws, and EOBs.
  • Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
  • Data entry skills with high accuracy, using computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams.
  • Good problem-solving skills, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians, and external customers, maintaining a pleasant disposition and high tolerance level.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, being a self-motivator and goal-oriented.
Education and Experience
  • High-school graduate or equivalent.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business administration or related field of study is preferred.
  • Accounts Receivable experience preferred.
