Position Summary:

The Inside Sales Consultant plays a crucial role in promoting and selling our extensive range of pipe, valves, fittings, and related products. This position focuses on enhancing company revenue by cultivating robust customer relationships, generating new business leads, addressing customer inquiries, and supporting marketing efforts. You will collaborate with both inside and outside sales teams to optimize revenue streams and deliver outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive customer service environment for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and provide accurate quotes to customers based on detailed product specifications.
  • Assist the Outside Sales team by ensuring a seamless customer service experience through prompt quotations and order processing.
  • Handle customer inquiries via phone, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by following up on orders and expediting processes when necessary.
  • Collaborate with management and outside sales representatives to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Engage with vendors and manufacturer partners to strengthen relationships and stay informed about new products and technologies.
  • Review daily reports to ensure timely fulfillment of backorders and complete customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with purchasing to source non-stock items when inventory is low.
  • Close sales directly with customers and in conjunction with the Outside Sales team.
  • Provide friendly and supportive customer service.
  • Coordinate quotations and sales orders using the Company’s sales software in conjunction with warehouse management systems.
  • Adhere to established departmental policies, procedures, and continuous quality improvement objectives.
  • Manage customer projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure all needs are met.
  • Market and promote all Company service-related offerings.
  • Support warehouse operations, sales counter, and will-call services to enhance customer experience when required.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized facility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to build rapport with both internal and external customers effectively.
  • A positive attitude and the capacity to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong mathematical skills are necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Proficient in general computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Service-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and assign effective priorities to various responsibilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the commercial PVF industry is required.
  • Prior experience in sales of HVAC and boiler hydronic heating systems is necessary.
  • Previous customer service experience is essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity.
