Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Support Specialist to join our Human Resources team at Missouri State University. As a key member of our department, you will provide administrative support to our staff and assist with various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, staff, and faculty, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with basic office tasks, including data entry, document preparation, and filing.
  • Sort, copy, scan, and name documents, as well as forward and attach them to appropriate files.
  • Enter data into spreadsheets and review documents for completion and accuracy.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the department, handling phone calls, emails, and in-person visits.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of university policies and procedures, as well as departmental protocols.
  • Collaborate with staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge and familiarity with MS Outlook.
  • A working knowledge of database applications and other systems used within the university or department.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Previous customer service or office experience preferred.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, work-study position, requiring approximately 15 hours per week. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 2pm to 5pm.
