Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recycling and Sustainability Specialist to join our team at the City of Corona, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing programs to reduce waste and promote sustainability in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recycling and sustainability programs to reduce waste and promote environmental stewardship.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for waste reduction and sustainability improvements.
  • Collaborate with city departments and community stakeholders to develop and implement sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop and implement educational programs to promote recycling and sustainability practices among residents and businesses.
  • Monitor and report on program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Three years of increasingly responsible administrative or program management experience related to waste reduction, recycling, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in environmental science, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with program development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and practices.
  • Experience working with community stakeholders and city departments.
