Position Overview: We are seeking a Geotechnical Field Specialist to join our team. This role involves a variety of responsibilities including logging, testing, and site assessment tasks. The successful candidate will operate field and laboratory equipment, conduct tests, and report findings based on project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field observations and log borings, probes, and test pits according to project plans.
  • Engage in drilling and sampling operations using both manual and powered equipment.
  • Monitor field activities to ensure compliance with project objectives and prepare detailed reports.
  • Communicate any challenges or changes in project scope to the project leader or supervisor.
  • Perform geotechnical investigations to evaluate subsurface conditions.
  • Plan and execute geotechnical exploration programs effectively.
  • Analyze findings and prepare technical reports for review by senior engineers.
  • Guide the technical team during field inspections and collaborate with clients to meet project deadlines.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in soil mechanics and various exploratory techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements: The role involves general physical activities, including standing, walking, and using a computer. Candidates must possess the physical capability to perform technician duties and have a valid driver's license.
