What is the role?

As a Technical Service Specialist, you will be an integral part of the Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions, LLC team. This position allows you to showcase your expertise in enhancing processes related to the installation and maintenance of specialized equipment. You will collaborate with customers and various service teams to ensure the successful deployment of ZEISS products. Additionally, you will support the Research and Development team with engineering tasks related to design, assembly, and testing of new systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, repair, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate advanced machinery at client sites.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service skills with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Demonstrate mechanical and electronic aptitude by mastering high-tech Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Complete necessary administrative documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Be solutions-oriented, capable of working independently in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
  • Travel extensively within the service area, including potential international assignments.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Technical school, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field such as Electronics or Industrial Mechanics preferred.
  • Military technical training and experience will also be considered.
  • Hands-on experience with tools and basic electrical testing equipment is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft operating systems is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Willingness to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, including overtime.
  • Experience in an industrial production environment is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics or machinery.
  • Familiarity with CMM installation and troubleshooting is advantageous but not mandatory.
