Job Summary

Sage Publishing is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Account Executive, Territory Sales Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding our presence in the higher education market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales and Business Development
    • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive revenue growth and expand our presence in the higher education market.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at higher education institutions.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and lead generation.
  • Product and Market Knowledge
    • Develop deep product knowledge through training and ongoing education to effectively communicate the value proposition of our products to customers.
    • Stay up-to-date on market trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategies and product development.
  • Planning, Reporting, and Database Maintenance
    • Manage sales pipeline and forecast revenue growth through regular reporting and analysis.
    • Utilize CRM software to track sales activity, customer interactions, and pipeline progress.
  • Conference Attendance and Business Travel
    • Attend industry conferences and trade shows to network with customers, partners, and competitors.
    • Travel to customer sites to demonstrate products, provide training, and build relationships.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
    • Minimum 2 years of sales experience in the higher education market or a related industry.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Proven track record of sales success and revenue growth.
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office.

  • Industry Experience
    • Experience working in the publishing industry or a related field.
  • Technical Skills
    • Familiarity with CRM software and sales technology platforms.
