Shriners Children's stands as the leading medical center for pediatric burn, orthopedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and various pediatric subspecialties. We are currently seeking a PRN Clinical Laboratory Specialist to enhance our team.

Job Overview:

The Clinical Laboratory Specialist is responsible for analyzing and reporting laboratory values as part of the comprehensive care provided to our patients. The diagnostic procedures conducted may encompass chemistry, microbiology, hemostasis, hematology, blood banking, urinalysis, and phlebotomy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees technical laboratory operations and reviews patient results.
  • Analyzes and reports all laboratory tests requested for patients.
  • Conducts quality control, operates laboratory instruments, and provides training to staff.

Position Details:
This is a PRN role with variable hours based on operational needs, which may include weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and weekends from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $35.

Qualifications:

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience; new graduates are welcome to apply.

Required Certifications/Licenses:

  • MLT (ASCP), CLS, or equivalent certification is required.
  • Medical Technologist license in the state of practice is required.
