UTMB Health is seeking a highly qualified Academic Faculty member to join our Clinical Laboratory Sciences department. As an Associate/Assistant Professor of Instruction, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses, developing curriculum, and advising students.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Teach Clinical Laboratory Sciences courses to on-campus and distance students, including lectures and labs. Develop and implement lesson plans, prepare presentations, and obtain visual aids for on-campus and distance web-based courses.
- Student Advising and Support: Advise students on academic and research activities, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
- Scholarly and Professional Activities: Participate in scholarly, professional, and administrative service activities, contributing to the growth and development of the department and the institution.
- Departmental and Committee Service: Participate in departmental meetings and committee meetings, contributing to the decision-making process and ensuring the effective functioning of the department.
- Education: Master's degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Three years of teaching experience.
- Certifications: ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist and specialist certification in blood banking.
- Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
