Overview:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist II in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a skilled professional responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care. This role requires a thorough understanding of the Texas Nurse Practice Act and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 6 months to 2 years of clinical experience.
- Current and valid Texas nursing license or permit.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans for assigned patients.
- Identify nursing diagnoses and patient care requirements.
- Execute physician orders and administer medications and treatments competently.
- Deliver culturally sensitive nursing care in alignment with institutional policies and standards.
- Perform routine technical procedures relevant to the specialty area.
- Provide patient and family education tailored to individual learning needs.
- Utilize evidence-based resources for effective patient/family education.
- Demonstrate proficient time management and delegation skills.
- Maintain safety and continuity of care through effective communication and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Epic electronic health records.
Compensation:
Salary will be determined based on experience.
Work Schedule:
To be established by the nurse manager according to unit requirements, typically involving 12-hour shifts.
