Job Title: HVAC Project Manager


Position Overview: The HVAC Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing HVAC projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget constraints, and client satisfaction. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, effective resource management, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Examples of Projects: Residential replacements, new construction HVAC systems, and remodeling HVAC installations for full apartment buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Planning:
    • Create detailed project plans that define scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and key milestones.
    • Identify project needs and allocate essential resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  2. Coordination and Supervision:
    • Manage and coordinate HVAC installation teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, ensure compliance with specifications, and resolve any issues.
  3. Budget Management:
    • Develop and oversee project budgets, including cost estimates, expenditures, and financial reporting.
    • Monitor expenses to ensure projects remain within budget and implement cost-saving strategies.
  4. Scheduling:
    • Create and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completion of all phases.
    • Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes, delays, or unexpected circumstances.
  5. Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all work meets high-quality standards and complies with industry codes and regulations.
    • Conduct quality inspections and promptly address any deficiencies.
  6. Safety Compliance:
    • Foster and enforce a culture of safety on all job sites.
    • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and OSHA regulations by all team members.
  7. Client Communication:
    • Act as the primary contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
    • Maintain strong relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and deliver exceptional service.
  8. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Keep accurate and detailed project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and closeout documents.
    • Prepare and present project status reports to management and clients.
  9. Problem Solving:
    • Quickly identify and resolve project-related issues and challenges.
    • Implement effective solutions to keep projects on track and prevent future problems.
  10. Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.
    • Implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience as a project manager in the HVAC sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, installation practices, and industry standards.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • PMP certification is advantageous.
Work Environment:
  • Combination of office duties and on-site project management.
  • Occasional travel to job sites and client meetings.
  • Ability to work in diverse weather conditions and environments.
Physical Requirements:
  • Capability to perform site inspections and navigate construction sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
