About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Quality Coordinator Trauma RN. This is a full-time position working 8-hour day shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead improvement processes activities for the trauma population through the review of patient charts, quality indicators, analysis, and reporting in the Trauma Committee.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention activities as indicated by the Providence Holy Cross trauma population and local epidemiological data.
  • Assist the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Program Medical Director to monitor and coordinate all aspects of the Trauma Service Performance Improvement and Patient Safety program and the Trauma Injury Prevention program.
  • Responsible for clinical data abstraction from the medical records of trauma patients for the purposes of quality improvement.
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of trauma education for clinicians involved in the care of the trauma patient, including EMS, Emergency, and Acute Care.
  • Assist in the coordination of trauma care for patients throughout their hospitalization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Nursing from an accredited program.
  • California Registered Nurse License.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months (180 days) of hire.
  • Three years of Trauma, Emergency, or Critical Care experience within a healthcare organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework/Training: ICD-10, Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) scoring course.
  • Coursework/Training: American Trauma Society Basic Trauma Registrar course.
  • Recent experience in Emergency, Critical Care, or Trauma nursing.
  • Experience with collector software and the State Trauma Registry.
  • Experience with chart audits.
