About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Trauma Quality Coordinator. This is a full-time position working 8-hour day shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead improvement processes activities for the trauma population through the review of patient charts, quality indicators, analysis, and reporting in the Trauma Committee.
  • Assist in monitoring and coordinating all aspects of the Trauma Service Performance Improvement and Patient Safety program.
  • Responsible for clinical data abstraction from medical records of trauma patients for quality improvement purposes.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention activities based on the Providence Holy Cross trauma population and local epidemiological data.
  • Assist in coordinating and delivering trauma education for clinicians involved in trauma patient care, including EMS, Emergency, and Acute Care.
  • Assist in coordinating trauma care for patients throughout their hospitalization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months (180 days) of hire.
  • Three years of experience in Trauma, Emergency, or Critical Care within a healthcare organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework/Training in ICD-10, Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) scoring.
  • Coursework/Training in American Trauma Society Basic Trauma Registrar course.
  • Recent experience in Emergency, Critical Care, or Trauma nursing.
  • Experience with collector software and the State Trauma Registry.
  • Experience with chart audits.
