Position Overview:

The Banking and Cash Management Lead serves as a strategic expert, remaining informed about advancements in the field and contributing to the overall strategy by applying this knowledge to their role and the organization. This individual is recognized as a technical authority within the business, requiring a foundational understanding of commercial operations. Typically, multiple professionals within the organization possess similar levels of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support product sales initiatives for private banker teams to drive new business in banking deposits and treasury management.
  • Engage directly with clients, including CFOs, CEOs, Controllers, Treasurers, and accounting personnel.
  • Utilize a consultative sales approach to assess client needs and recommend tailored solutions.
  • Facilitate meaningful discussions with clients regarding their key challenges and propose comprehensive banking and cash management solutions.
  • Possess knowledge of BASEL III LCR requirements and effectively communicate their implications to clients.
  • Fully engage in and execute all strategic business development initiatives.
  • Foster and enhance existing relationships with private banking clients.
  • Conduct reviews of banker portfolios and client relationships to identify new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and present analyses of competitor offerings and product proposals.
  • Travel as necessary to various offices within the designated coverage area.
  • Assist in the Proposal and RFP bidding processes.
  • Keep CPB offices and clients informed about new products, enhancements, and industry trends.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the banking and custody team, product partners, and colleagues across Citi.
  • Assess risks in business decisions, prioritizing the firm's reputation and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years in cash management, banking, and client engagement.
  • Knowledge of Treasury Management products and the client sales cycle.
  • Familiarity with Private Banking is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
  • Strong consultative selling and negotiation capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and consistent follow-up skills.
  • Possession of a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation or willingness to pursue it within 1-2 years of employment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant reporting systems.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
