Role Summary: We are experiencing significant growth in our gastroenterology practice and endoscopy suite. To enhance our team, we are looking for a dynamic and personable Medical Assistant. While prior experience is valued, we are eager to train motivated individuals who are keen to learn and contribute to our thriving practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a positive patient experience by collecting vital signs, weight, and accurately entering health histories into our electronic medical records.
  • Welcome patients and manage the check-in process, including verifying insurance, explaining office policies, and handling billing inquiries.
  • Assist with phone communications, ensuring efficient interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Oversee office opening and closing procedures, including securing the premises, maintaining lobby refreshments, and organizing the reception area.
  • Manage medical records, including collection, organization, scanning, and fulfilling requests.
  • Prepare medical records for physician review prior to patient appointments.
  • Facilitate communication with referring providers to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Administer immunizations and perform phlebotomy as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of consultation rooms to provide a welcoming environment.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Current CPR certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a clinical office setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and experience with electronic medical records, especially eClinical Works, is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, reliability, and enthusiasm are vital attributes for this role.
