Role Summary: We are a dynamic gastroenterology office and endoscopy suite seeking a motivated and personable Medical Assistant to join our team. While prior experience is valued, we are eager to train enthusiastic candidates who are keen to learn and contribute to our thriving practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a positive patient experience by accurately recording vital signs and health history in the electronic medical record.
  • Welcome patients and manage the check-in process, including verifying insurance and explaining office policies.
  • Assist with phone communications, triaging calls to facilitate effective interactions with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Oversee office opening and closing procedures, including securing the premises and maintaining the reception area.
  • Manage medical records, including organization, scanning, and fulfilling requests.
  • Prepare medical records for physician review prior to patient appointments.
  • Coordinate communication with referring providers to ensure smooth patient care transitions.
  • Administer immunizations and perform phlebotomy as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of consultation rooms to create a welcoming environment.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Current Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Preferred: Current CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • 1 to 2 years of clinical office experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with electronic medical records, especially eClinical Works, are a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, reliability, and enthusiasm are essential attributes for this role.
