Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Executive to join our team at Marshall & Sterling Inc. As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for aggressively pursuing and closing sales of new and existing commercial lines accounts, while retaining a book of commercial lines business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve minimum sales and other objectives as agreed upon with the company.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects to achieve sales and retention goals.
  • Collect detailed risk and underwriting information to provide value-added services to clients.
  • Develop and deliver formal proposals of insurance utilizing Marshall & Sterling's online system.
  • Follow renewal workflows to ensure retention of accounts.
  • Perform risk analysis and risk mitigation to minimize potential losses.
  • Refer clients and prospects to other divisions of Marshall & Sterling.
  • Delegate client service needs appropriately to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Establish and follow through on risk analysis and risk mitigation along with service timelines on appropriate accounts.
  • Attend all sales meetings as required to stay informed and aligned with company goals.
  • Collect premiums per established agency procedures to ensure accurate and timely payment.
  • Follow agency E&O and workflow procedures to document activities and prevent errors and omissions losses.
  • Effectively use the marketing, loss control, and claims handling resources of the Agency to maximize the service provided to clients.
  • Promote agency and insurance industry in the community to build brand awareness and reputation.
  • Obtain required continuing education credits to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Maintain professional accreditation necessary to meet agency standards.
  • Participate in continuing education programs when available to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Build and maintain a favorable and professional work relationship with other staff members to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Adhere to established employee manual policies and guidelines to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Promptly report all E&O claims and potential E&O claims to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and agency information to protect sensitive data and maintain trust.
Requirements
  • College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven ability to pursue and close sales, with a strong track record of success.
  • Knowledge of insurance products and services, including commercial lines accounts.
  • Appropriate state insurance licenses and continuing education required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse types of individuals and groups.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Programs, with a strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Vertafore a plus, but not required.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of organizational ability and attention to detail.
Compensation

Annual salary range $100,000-$250,000 negotiable and based on commission.

The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
