About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Messaging Engineer to join our team at Barclays in Whippany, New Jersey. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and developing solutions to complex email infrastructure issues, collaborating with technical support teams, and ensuring the optimal availability and functionality of our email services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop solutions to complex email infrastructure issues, including system administration and network concerns.
  • Collaborate with technical support teams to deliver resolutions and ensure email service integrity and availability.
  • Perform systems management and integration functions, utilizing problem management systems to drive process optimizations.
  • Leverage knowledge of MS Exchange Servers, MS Office 365, and MS Azure to ensure optimal email infrastructure performance.
  • Analyze technical communications regarding email internal tower services, encompassing over 150,000 email inboxes.
  • Participate in collaboration services technical change review and approval meetings to review changes, share inputs, and analyze potential impact on email services.
  • Chair regular sessions with global Subject Matter Experts to assess services positions and reports, assign work, and ensure escalation issues are addressed.
  • Ensure organization email services are running within accepted Service Level Agreements.
  • Deploy and test new features and product updates within lab environments to complete proof of concepts.
  • Perform review cycles of messaging services and process to ensure elimination of technical issues.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for MS Exchange suite of products.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • At least five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience as a Messaging Engineer, Messaging Analyst, Programmer Analyst, Messaging Consultant, or related occupation managing and administering electronic communications infrastructure.
  • At least three (3) years of employment experience with each of the following required skills:
    • Subject Matter Expertise with messaging and collaboration product stacks including MS 365 Cloud Productivity Suite, MS Exchange Server, MS Exchange Hybrid Deployments with MS Cloud, MS Azure, MS Security & Compliance Center, MailMarshal Email Scanner, Symantec Messaging Gateway, MessageLabs and Enterprise Vault.
    • Technology design, engineering, email services modernization, and integration of products to improve organizational employee collaboration experience.
    • Planning messaging and collaboration solution deployments and releases configured according to organizational technology roadmaps and benchmarks based on region, business units, cyber-security, and compliance standards.
    • Deploying, configuring, and maintaining lab infrastructure and enabling test environments to develop solutions.
    • Participating in solution delivery and defect management processes including creating and maintaining document repository.
    • Utilizing PowerShell scripting to automate workflows.
    • Leveraging strategic partnerships to enable acceleration and standardization in-line with business priorities and projects.
    • Collaborating with messaging tower leads, service management, and stakeholders to ensure email service design, implementation, and documentation is accepted and email service integrity and availability is tested.
