Job Overview

Purpose of the Role

The Senior Java Engineer at Vodastra will take charge of the development for the primary batch processing and accounting system, facilitating the integration of various businesses into the platform. This role demands complete ownership of delivery tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and develop Java-related tasks
  • Familiarize with the current technology stack and application framework, while seeking opportunities for enhancements
  • Collaborate within a global team structure
  • Define and negotiate the scope of modifications
  • Engage with Quality Assurance teams to ensure project sign-offs
  • Assist in System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases
  • Contribute to multiple streams within the platform, aiding in requirement analysis and delivering innovative, scalable solutions
  • Collaborate with the Technical Authority for technology-related discussions and integrate these insights into deliverables
  • Participate in knowledge sharing sessions with the team and provide training to the support team on new features and functionalities

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient in analyzing requirements, providing estimates, and developing efficient Java code within deadlines
  • Expertise in Core Java, with a solid understanding of multi-threading and messaging
  • Familiarity with Spring, Hibernate, Coherence, or similar technology stacks
  • Ability to comprehend and write SQL and PL/SQL queries

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 4-6 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong understanding of the investment banking sector and its operational processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of finance and operational workflows from front to back

Familiarity with Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) concepts, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
