Position Overview
The Clinical Research Specialist plays a crucial role in advancing research initiatives by collaborating with investigators on study design, navigating the approval process, and managing data pertinent to specific specialties. This position is instrumental in promoting safe patient care and maintaining a secure environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical or relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in clinical research, with a solid understanding of clinical trial execution, research principles, and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Experience in pediatric care within the relevant specialty.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Licensure and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse licensure in Georgia or through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Completion of relevant training within 30 days of employment, as required by the role.
  • Certification from a recognized clinical research organization within one year of employment.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal regulations governing research, with the ability to mentor others.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to foster collaborative relationships with research teams.
  • Proficient in pediatric assessments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee research protocols at an expert level.
  • Assist investigators in drafting study protocols and managing participant engagement.
  • Coordinate study-related activities, including patient visits and specimen handling.
  • Ensure compliance with informed consent procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Provide mentorship to nursing staff regarding patient care standards.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and monitor patient safety throughout research activities.
  • Manage regulatory documentation and facilitate communication with sponsors and oversight bodies.
  • Lead educational initiatives and quality improvement projects related to research.
