Position Overview
The Clinical Research Specialist is responsible for the development, execution, and support of research initiatives. This role involves collaboration with investigators on study design, navigating the approval process, and managing data pertinent to specific pediatric specialties. The position emphasizes the importance of safe patient care and fostering a secure environment within our healthcare system.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical or relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in clinical research, demonstrating knowledge of clinical trial conduct, research principles, and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Experience in the specific pediatric specialty.
  • Clinical experience with pediatric populations.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Certification Requirements
  • Registered Nurse licensure in Georgia or through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Completion of ARUP Handling, Packaging, and Shipping Infectious Substances training or equivalent within 30 days if applicable.
  • Completion of Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) within 30 days of hire.
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA), Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC), or equivalent within one year of employment.

  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Designs and facilitates research protocols at an advanced level.
  • Assists investigators in drafting study protocols and managing participant recruitment and engagement.
  • Coordinates study-related visits and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provides direct patient care in alignment with research protocols, including specimen collection and administration of study medications.
  • Conducts comprehensive assessments of study participants, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Manages regulatory documentation and oversees compliance throughout the research process.
  • Engages in data management, ensuring accuracy and integrity of research data.
  • Leads educational initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance research practices.
  • Facilitates financial aspects of research, including budgeting and sponsor interactions.
