Position Overview:

The Front Desk Agent plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service to guests during their arrival, stay, and departure. This position involves responding to inquiries via phone and in person, ensuring guests receive accurate information and assistance with reservations and hotel services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greets guests and efficiently manages check-in procedures daily, utilizing both manual and computerized systems to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Facilitates guest check-out processes by adhering to established procedures to finalize accounts and prepare rooms for incoming guests.
  • Accurately processes financial transactions, including calculating and posting charges, to maintain precise hotel records and provide guests with timely billing.
  • Responds to inquiries and accepts reservations, effectively communicating hotel rates and utilizing suggestive selling techniques to enhance occupancy and revenue.
  • Maintains strong customer relations by staying informed about in-house and local events to provide knowledgeable responses to guest inquiries.
  • Operates the PBX system to manage incoming and outgoing calls, schedule wake-up calls, and page guests as needed.
  • Handles cash transactions responsibly, ensuring compliance with hotel banking policies.
  • Exhibits a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: No prior experience required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic mathematical skills and familiarity with cash handling procedures.
  • Experience in customer service and effective communication skills.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to handle customer service challenges with tact and understanding.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when multitasking.

Physical Requirements:

Physical demands include the ability to read written communications and operate office equipment. The role requires standing for extended periods, with occasional bending and lifting of items up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily indoors, in a climate-controlled environment, under fluorescent lighting.
