Position Overview

The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for our guests during their stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites Savannah Airport. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at maintaining the highest standards of service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Guest Registration: Welcome guests and manage room assignments, ensuring special requests are accommodated whenever feasible.
  2. Room Management: Assist with pre-registration and block rooms for reservations, maintaining a thorough understanding of room availability and status.
  3. Financial Procedures: Adhere to established credit and cash-handling policies, ensuring accurate processing of transactions.
  4. Room Knowledge: Be well-versed in room types, locations, and rates to effectively assist guests.
  5. Sales Techniques: Utilize suggestive selling strategies to promote room bookings and additional hotel services.
  6. Housekeeping Coordination: Communicate room status updates to housekeeping, including check-outs and special requests.
  7. Reservations Insight: Possess a solid understanding of the reservations process, including handling same-day and future bookings.
  8. Key Management: Organize and file room keys efficiently.
  9. Equipment Proficiency: Operate front office equipment competently.
  10. Guest Check-Out: Manage the check-out process for guests, ensuring all charges are accurately posted.
  11. Safe Deposit Procedures: Follow protocols for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes.
  12. Communication Skills: Maintain proper telephone etiquette and manage mail and package handling effectively.
  13. Daily Updates: Review the pass-on log and bulletin board to stay informed about hotel activities.
  14. Team Meetings: Participate in departmental meetings to stay aligned with team objectives.
  15. Maintenance Coordination: Work with the engineering team to address guestroom maintenance needs.
  16. Incident Reporting: Report any unusual occurrences to management promptly.
  17. Safety Awareness: Understand and implement safety and emergency procedures, ensuring a secure environment for guests and staff.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in the primary language(s) used in the workplace is essential.

Experience: Previous experience in a hotel environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements: The role requires dexterity, the ability to stand, sit, walk, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
