Position Overview

The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for our guests during their stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites Savannah Airport. This position involves a variety of responsibilities that contribute to the overall efficiency of hotel operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Guest Registration: Welcome guests, assign rooms, and accommodate special requests to enhance their experience.
  2. Pre-Registration Support: Assist in pre-registration and room blocking for reservations to ensure smooth check-in processes.
  3. Financial Procedures: Maintain a thorough understanding of credit policies, check-cashing, and cash-handling procedures.
  4. Room Status Management: Monitor and track room status effectively to ensure accurate information is communicated.
  5. Room Knowledge: Be knowledgeable about room locations, types, and rates to assist guests effectively.
  6. Sales Techniques: Utilize suggestive selling techniques to promote room bookings and additional hotel services.
  7. Housekeeping Coordination: Communicate room status updates to the housekeeping team, including check-outs and special requests.
  8. Reservations Knowledge: Possess a working knowledge of the reservations department, including cancellation procedures.
  9. Key Management: File and manage room keys appropriately.
  10. Front Office Equipment: Demonstrate proficiency in using front office equipment.
  11. Guest Check-Out: Process guest check-outs efficiently and accurately.
  12. Charge Posting: Post and file all charges to guest, master, and city ledger accounts.
  13. Safe Deposit Procedures: Follow established procedures for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes.
  14. Telephone Etiquette: Maintain proper telephone etiquette in all communications.
  15. Mail Handling: Adhere to proper procedures for handling mail, packages, and messages.
  16. Daily Updates: Read and initial the pass-on log and bulletin board daily to stay informed about hotel activities.
  17. Department Meetings: Attend department meetings to stay updated on policies and procedures.
  18. Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate guestroom maintenance requests with the engineering and maintenance division.
  19. Incident Reporting: Report any unusual occurrences or requests to management.
  20. Safety Awareness: Understand and follow all safety and emergency procedures, including accident prevention policies.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in the primary language(s) used in the workplace is essential.

Experience: Previous experience in a hotel environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements: The role requires finger dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity, and the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.
