Overview

The Microsoft Consumer Sales Organization (CSO) is engaged with all Microsoft offerings directed towards consumers, focusing on two primary solution areas: Gaming, which encompasses Xbox Hardware and Services, and Devices and Creativity, which includes Surface, Office, and Windows. The CSO team collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance revenue, market presence, and shared profitability while upholding the highest standards of ethics and compliance in all endeavors.

The CSO Finance team is a truly global finance unit that is deeply committed to nurturing its talent and adapting in a dynamic environment. Our responsibilities span all finance functions, collaborating with Marketing to drive product categories, Supply and Operations to ensure product availability, and Sales to comprehend Partner Account mechanics and Channel Strategy. We manage the organization’s Rhythm of Business (RoB) and oversee the Profit and Loss (P&L) statements. We chart our growth trajectory in existing markets and explore new opportunities for the company, while prioritizing the creation of a more inclusive Microsoft across our products, culture, and customer interactions.

The Consumer Sales Finance Analytics Lead position presents an exceptional opportunity to be at the core of a vibrant business during a pivotal phase of transformation. You will play a crucial role in orchestrating the methods we use to track, measure, and monitor business performance, driving actionable insights that will facilitate business growth. This role will enable the Finance and Business organizations to identify and critically evaluate investment opportunities, optimizing between margin and market share to foster sustainable growth engines and effectively implement our worldwide strategy. You will collaborate with diverse teams within a matrix organization, influencing Regional, Worldwide CSO, and Engineering Group teams. The ideal candidate should possess a strong passion for our consumer business, demonstrate agility and innovation, and embody a transformational mindset focused on growth.

You will lead digital transformation within the finance function towards data-driven insights utilizing advanced technologies such as Machine Learning. Engaging directly with customers and business partners will also be a key aspect of your role.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field AND 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or a related field OR a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field OR equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across CSO Finance and Business teams to understand data and analytical needs, partnering with Finance Operations and Business Operations to implement solutions.
  • Enhance efficiency across teams by standardizing processes and creating a unified source of truth.
  • Comprehend the data requirements necessary to support key business and finance cycles, providing analytics that create efficiencies through a standardized approach.
  • Regularly assess current data and analytics capabilities, understanding usage and leveraging insights to inform future action plans, including report modifications, replacements, or training needs.
  • Support critical ad hoc data and analytics requirements, fostering a common understanding of needs and driving towards solutions.
  • Recognize opportunities to fundamentally improve operations and act as a change agent, utilizing both formal and informal influence to mobilize others.
  • Simplify complexities and inspire through storytelling and effective communication. Deliver high-quality performance narratives for executive meetings.
  • Conceptualize and design innovative approaches to financial data collection and evaluation to influence future outcomes and decisions.
  • Drive advancements in data management through automation, applying an understanding of advanced technology to achieve business objectives and enhance analytical depth.
